Blake Lively Jokes Ryan Reynolds Is Trying to Get Her Pregnant With Baby No. 5

It takes less than a simple favor for Blake Lively to fall for Ryan Reynolds.

In fact, for the husband and wife of 12 years, it can be as simple as Blake seeing her man with a dog—though in this case, we’re not talking about an adorable puppy.

When Ryan took to the stage for a recent Deadpool & Wolverine event, he brought with him “Dogpool,” aka Peggy aka Mary Puppins—a dog in the film who previously won Ugliest Dog in Britain. And the video of the pair together had Blake feeling some type of way.

“SOS,” she wrote alongside the video of Ryan and Peggy on her July 11 Instagram Story. “He’s trying to get me pregnant again.”

She added of her husband, with whom she shares daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, and a fourth child welcomed in 2023, “Put the dog that you find adorable in spite of societal K9 expectations away and take off the damn teal suit! Rude.”

Because indeed, while pointing out Peggy’s slightly less than ideal features, Ryan couldn’t help but sing her praises in the video.

“She is really truly amazing,” the Deadpool star said, adding of his other coworker, “This dog went for more training than Hugh Jackman did in the gym. And we love her very, very much."

And this isn’t the only time Blake has metaphorically drooled over her husband as of late. When Hugh shared an image July 2 of Ryan in a white tank top showing off his arm muscles as he pointed to the camera, Blake commented, "My thirst has been trapped."

Yet in true Ryan fashion, he had a quip ready to go in response to the thirst trap.  "This photo is from my private collection," he joked. "How dare you?"

But while Ryan has been off promoting his newest superhero epic, Blake has been preparing for the release of her film It Ends With Us, based off the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover.

And at a July 10 screening for the book adaptation, the Gossip Girl alum had the perfect replacement for her husband: his mom.

Indeed, in Ryan’s place was his mother Tammy Reynolds, whom Blake described as “the hottest plus one” in a subsequent Instagram post from the evening.
